Hi, I’m M D – a surf, lifestyle, and travel photographer based in Newquay, Cornwall. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been chasing light, waves, and stories. I’ve spent the last 14 years immersed in the salt-soaked world of surf photography in Cornwall, combining my lifelong love of the sea with my passion for capturing moments that matter.
I grew up drawn to the ocean — not just to surf or swim, but to observe. To really watch. The way the waves move, how people interact with the sea, and the quiet stories unfolding in between the big moments. That sense of presence, of paying attention to the in-between, still defines my approach to photography today.

My main focus is surf lifestyle photography, shooting from the water, in the lineup, and all along the coastline of Cornwall. You’ll usually find me with a housing-mounted camera in hand, treading water somewhere off the coast of Newquay, waiting for just the right moment to unfold.
Whether it’s a clean cutback in golden light or the quiet focus before a set, I aim to freeze that sliver of time that says something real about the surf culture in Cornwall.
Being a surf photographer in Cornwall means being ready for anything — from summer swells to freezing winter storms. It’s a wild ride, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
