Meet The Photographer Behind Aquasnaps

This is usually where you'll find me...

“One of the more unsung surf photographer heroes committed to the cause”

Quote - Jason Lock - Wavelength Magazine

CORNISH SURF PHOTOGRAPHER

More than just waves.

I'm Martin, the bloke usually bobbing about in the line-up with a camera. Based in Cornwall, I photograph the people, places and little moments that make surf culture what it is.

Big waves are great. But sometimes the best frame happens when nobody's actually surfing.

“Not every good surf photograph needs a wave.”

It's the moments in between.

The paddle-outs. The conversations. The quiet seconds before the next set rolls through. That's often where my favourite photographs happen — honest surf portraits with a bit of salt and plenty of character.

THE WAY I SEE IT

From Newquay, with a camera.

Growing up around Newquay, the ocean was never far away. What started with an interest in photography turned into years spent chasing light, surf and those moments you can't quite plan.

These days, you'll find me photographing surf portraits and coastal life around Cornwall — and occasionally a little further afield.
